Giant Revel 2 Front Suspension, 2011 The ever-hard-working engineers at Giant have developed new aluxX tubing for this year's aluminium frames, and the Revel 2 adds Suntour 80mm travel forks and classic, dependable Shimano gearing to keep you rolling faster for longer. This is a step up in component specification from the entry level Revel 3, and for the relatively small extra cost you'll notice the plusher, longer travel forks and more robust gear shifting. The gears themselves are a wider spread of 24 speed instead of the 21 speed found on the cheaper model, which means eight rear sprockets instead of seven, giving a smoother, more even gear shift and a lower bottom gear for easier climbing. A godsend when the trails get slippery and technical!
